EBCT Gallery of Vocal Tract Shapes

The images shown on this page are three-dimensional reconstructions of 2 static vocal tract shapes corresponding to the vowels /i/ as in "heat" and /a/ as in "hot". The images were acquired from one adult male and one adult female subject. At the time of scanning, the male was 29 years old, was 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighed 145 pounds. The female was 27 years old, 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighed 120 pounds. The male is a native of the midwestern United States while the female is a native of Texas.
